Cultural Integration — the "Belong" program

Most agencies stop at Spanish classes. Our suggestion: make integration the thing clients remember us for, because it's what decides whether a move works. A client who feels at home by month three stays, refers friends and joins the alumni community, which is our cheapest growth engine. These are proposals to discuss; star the ones the team wants to pursue.

01 · The idea

Why this can be our edge

Start before they land

The visa wait is dead time. Use it: Spanish and cultural prep online while the file is processed, so they arrive already able to order, ask and joke a little.

A real local, not a brochure

Every client gets a local buddy for the first month. Feeling known by one Colombian changes everything.

Community as a product

The alumni network becomes a place people want to belong to, and the place new clients hear about us.

03 · Client journey

The first 90 days

WhenWhat happens
Before arrivalSpanish placement test, "Spanish before you fly" online course, cultural prep call, joins the community WhatsApp (read-only welcome channel)
Week 1Airport welcome, neighbourhood walk, metro ride, meets their buddy, first coffee with the team
Weeks 2–4Spanish classes start, first Sobremesa dinner, one weekend day trip, practical errands done in Spanish with the buddy
Month 2Intercambio (language exchange) partner, first cultural event, family/partner track sessions
Month 3Integration check-in call (how are you really doing?), feedback, invite to host a newcomer at the next dinner
04 · Tailoring

By client type

Families

  • Playdates with other newcomer and local families
  • Spanish support for kids alongside school
  • Parent network at the child's school
  • Weekend family day trips

Digital nomads

  • Coworking introductions
  • Founder and remote-worker meetups
  • Weekend trips, salsa, football nights
  • Fast-track conversational Spanish

Retirees

  • Slower-paced Spanish in small groups
  • Daytime cultural outings, cooking, gardens, music
  • Health-system walk-through with a companion
  • Volunteering that uses their experience

The partner who followed

  • Often the person most at risk of feeling isolated
  • Own buddy, own Spanish track
  • Volunteering, work-permit options, courses
  • A peer group of others in the same situation

Clients from South America usually need little Spanish help; focus them on networking, the city and the community instead.

What we need to launch a first version

Suggestions for team discussion. All partners, venues, event dates and prices to be confirmed before anything is sold. Community spaces need clear house rules and someone moderating.
